Most advisors chase MDRT with more meetings.
The ones who break through to COT and TOT aren't just working harder.
They're planning at a higher value, in the client conversations they're already having.

Have You Seen These Headlines?

These aren't rare cases. They're what happens when legacy planning gets skipped, or done wrong — and most of your clients have no idea they're exposed until it's too late.

About Darren Tan

Darren Tan is a Senior Estate & Succession Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in the wealth management and estate planning industry. Armed with an MBA from Manchester Business School, he also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP®), and Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP®) qualifications — placing him among a niche group of practitioners in Singapore with expertise across financial, trust, and succession planning.

Since beginning his career in 2010, Darren has helped families and business owners safeguard their legacies, protect assets, and create enduring peace of mind through customised estate and trust solutions. To date, he has drafted more than 150 wills and structured over USD 200 million in trust assets.

A sought-after speaker and trainer, Darren has conducted workshops for SMEs, MNCs, and financial institutions, where he dispels misconceptions about estate planning and equips audiences with practical strategies. He is also a mentor to more than 50 financial consultants, guiding them to elevate their advisory careers through deeper estate planning knowledge.

Darren’s training style blends technical expertise with clear, relatable delivery. He believes estate planning is not just about documents, but about understanding personal stories and harmonising family relationships across generations. His guiding philosophy, “Plan, Prepare, Provide”, underscores his mission: to help individuals and families preserve wealth and harmony for generations.

What If One Illness Could Cost Your Client's Family $1.7 Million
— Even With An LPA Already In Place?

If your LPA appointment takes under 30 minutes, chances are you only walked through paperwork, not planning. A real case: husband and wife, both 50. If one of them is diagnosed with dementia tomorrow, here's what their family is actually choosing between:

Scenario A

Wife quits work to caregive for 10 years.
Total income loss: ~$1.7M

Scenario B

She keeps working, hires a helper.
Costs approach $1M, plus supervision risk.

Scenario C

Nursing home at $3,000/month for 10 years.
$360,000, often without subsidy.

None of these are good options.

And that's the real gap: an LPA tells you who makes decisions but it says nothing about how those decisions get paid for.

Three scenarios, three very different price tags, and one question the family can't answer without an advisor: how will this be paid for? That question is where the big cases are, when it's handled professionally.

In the session, Darren walks through exactly how to structure such funding conversation so your client's family never has to choose between bad options.

You Don't Need HNW Clients To Start

The biggest misconception advisors carry is that legacy planning is only for the ultra-wealthy. It's not. It's for anyone who wants to know their family will be okay — which is every client you already have.

A First Look At The Frameworks

The Impact Circle

The one question that reveals where a client actually wants to start.

Their Golden Goose

The one thing every client needs protected — different for every family.

Two Diagnostic Questions

"Have you done a Will? Have you done an LPA?" — instantly reveals whether you've earned a seat at the table.

What Past Participants Say

"Darren showed exactly how legacy planning conversations translate into opening cases and growing the business. These aren't just theory or abstract concepts. Participants walked out with frameworks they could use immediately to help their clients plan better and protect their legacy."

— Benjamin Ang, Director, Adviser Playschool

"I used to know my clients well financially, yet I couldn't go deeper into legacy planning because I didn't feel equipped. Today, the biggest shift was stewardship. Once I gained clarity and direction, I finally knew how to guide my clients with purpose."
